In the Project Plan of the Tilburg Triangle International Art Meeting the goals of Tilburg Triangle are described.

This Process Plan describes the productional, organizational and financial ways in which these goals are realized, designed in four phases, each with its own purpose, process and dynamics.

As time progresses, this Process Plan can be developed more accurately regarding to process, planning and finance. Except for Phase 1, this Process Plan should be read in that light.

Phase 1

Creating the focus

• Purpose

Phase 1 focuses on developing the substantive framework within which the Tilburg Triangle International Art Meeting is about to appear.

• Method

From the focus on the Railway Zone different kinds of information is collected that will be available to the participants of Tilburg Triangle as an inspiration. In this research focus is on history, heritage, social context, urban history and future, and on mobility.

For this study, in addition to thorough archival research, there will also be called on scientists, artists, politicians, activists, local residents and other passers-by to contribute to The White Pages in their own personal way.

• The White Pages

The White Pages is a sketch/paste/study/notebook in unfinished form that is made available to the artists who take part in Tilburg Triangle. A book that is created on the Internet as an evolving platform for insights, thoughts, images and reflections on the Railway Zone. A book with repeatedly added blank white pages that require filling, addition, discussion and more pictures.

Approximately half a year before the start of the Art Meeting the book in printed form is sent to the participating artists with the invitation to add thoughts, studies, plans and other preparatory movements to the book as a lead up to the Art Meeting in Tilburg (On the Internet, these additions are always added to The White Pages).

Simultaneously with the presentation of the White Pages to the participating artists, the book is also presented in a limited edition to people in the political, artistic and economic fields in Tilburg, concerned with the Railway Zone.

This presentation of The White Pages is the international kick-of for Tilburg Triangle.

Phase 2

International outlook

• Purpose

1. Composition of the list of participants

2. Practical organization of the Art Meeting

3. National and international positioning and marketing

• Method

1. After the presentation of The White Pages active approaching begins of potential participants based on the long list that is compiled in consultation with people and organizations active in the international art world.

Selected and confirmed participants receive the sketchbook The White Pages. Their contributions to this book are collected and made public on the Internet.

2. A professional team works out the production plan and its further execution.

3. Actively using the possibilities of 'social media' Tilburg Triangle is put on the market as an international event on art, the modern city and its past.

Phase 3

The International Art Meeting

• Purpose

Goals to be achieved in phase 3 of the International Art Meeting are described in the Project Plan.

Specific, additional goals of the International Art Meeting regarding the arts in Tilburg to be realized in the third phase of the project, the actual meeting of 20 international artists in Tilburg, are:

1. Promoting of international exchange with art colleges in Tilburg

2. Presentation of international art in the specific context of the urban area Railway Zone to the public of Tilburg and the Netherlands

• Method

A professional organization team realizes the practical and organizational development of the International Art Meeting on the basis of a detailed production plan.

Regarding the specific aims in this phase:

1. From the beginning of the project (phase 1) there is an intense contact and cooperation with Fontys University of the Arts. In Phase 3, a number of students are actively involved in the Art Meeting by assisting artists, visitors and public.

Participating artists give guest lectures at Fontys.

2. During the International Art Meeting, special visitors will have access to the Railway Zone area, and to the workshops and studios existing there in this period. These visits are limited to certain groups of visitors, such as local residents, local politicians, student groups or school classes. Always these visits are thoroughly prepared and assisted by students from art schools.

• Planning

The definitive period for the Art Meeting will be chosen in consultation with participating organizations, the city of Tilburg and other partners involved. For the time being the organizers focus on August 2011.


Phase 4

The addition

• Purpose

1. Presenting the results of the Tilburg Triangle Art Meeting to the public in Tilburg and the Netherlands

2. Publication of the results of Tilburg Triangle, especially regarding the development of thoughts about the Railway Zone, its heritage and future, the arts and city planning and other issues which were manifest in Tilburg Triangle.

• Method

1. During the last three days of the Art Meeting the Railway Zone area is open to the public of Tilburg and the Netherlands. Artists will be present to discuss their work.

2. During this period the symposium will be organized (in collaboration with BKKC, CAST, House of World) with as central theme The Modern City and Its Hidden Past.

3. The earlier version of the book The White Pages is reissued now, after being completed with the results of research (Phase 2) and realized work (Phase 3).

• Planning

Symposium and the re-publication of The White Pages will take place during the final weekend of Tilburg Triangle
